Who the Fuggle hasn’t heard about Fuggles yet? Fuggles impart a mild and musky flavor that is plain and undecorated in its hoppiness. Some refer to it as Earthy. There’s no fruitiness, no tropical flavors, but if you’re looking for a beer-flavored beer, Fuggle is your hop. It was first cultivated back in the day when Benjamin Disraeli was Prime Minister of the UK, in 1875. One quote attributed to Mr. Disraeli is, “Nobody is forgotten when it is convenient to remember him.” He could well have been talking about Fuggles, which have endured for well over 100 years.
